What To Wear To A Spring Wedding As A Guest

Taking on the issue that has been asked a lot: Spring Wedding Guest Dresses for every dress code! It just occurred to me after I spent some time updating this post regarding wedding guest shoes that I might have updated the dress selection in this post as well! While I’m confident that I’m not the only one who hasn’t purchased a gorgeous dress in a while, wedding season is among us. With vaccinations ramping up and pleasant weather returning, weddings are on the rise once again. As a result, in order to prepare for this year’s wedding season, I’ve put together an extensive collection of Spring wedding guest gowns.

Dress up your sundresses.

Dresses with flat shoes and a topknot are nice, but that doesn’t mean they can’t look great with heels, curls, and statement earrings as well! If you’re searching for something different, here are a handful of my personal faves.

You have tons of options for fancy weddings!

If you know you’re going to a black tie wedding, a more formal gown may be necessary – although this isn’t always the case for most posh weddings. This is especially true now since there are so many stylish minis, midis, and maxis to choose from!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BREAK THE BANK TO LOOK GREAT.

Unless you’re planning five weddings this summer, it’s unlikely that you’ll be spending $250 on each garment. But that doesn’t rule out the possibility of snagging a bargain! I like all of these gowns, and every single one of them costs less than $150!

And if all else fails, borrow from your friends!

Host a dress shopping event with your closest female friends. Probably, they’re also attempting to figure out what they should dress to weddings. Also, don’t forget to shop your own closet for inspiration. Yes, I realize this seems apparent, but people tend to forget about that amazing garment they purchased five years ago. Put that jerk back on your back!

What Not To Wear To A Spring Wedding As A Guest

Although I despise limits on personal style, these two guidelines are quite self-explanatory. 1: Do not dress in all white. DUH! Also, avoid wearing anything that is too exposing. But that doesn’t rule out having some fun with a plunge, cutouts, or an open back. you see what I’m getting at. What if your guests spend the whole wedding day talking about how exposing your dress is instead of the actual ceremony? In case you didn’t guess, the answer is no!

Evening Spring Wedding Outfit Ideas

As previously said, there are a plethora of alternatives available for extravagant weddings these days. Unless their wedding is a lavish black tie affair, you can typically get away with wearing a stunning maxi or an elegant cocktail dress instead of a gown on their big day. Here are a few suggestions!

Can’t go wrong with a floral wrap maxi.

Dresses with a wrap bodice are generally flattering, and the longer length makes them appear a little finer than minis. This one is made of silk, so it still has a regal sense to it, despite the fact that it has a whimsical flower motif. Opt for a plain hue if you don’t want to be surrounded by flowers! Yumi Kim creates some of my favorite dishes, without a doubt. They’re all very stunning!

Rent a gown that you don’t need to buy.

You should consider renting a gown if you absolutely must (or really want!) to attend one of your weddings in Spring/Summer. In addition, you may be able to obtain something that is well over your typical price range! Normally, this blue gown would be out of my price range, but I leased it for the Snowball Gala and it was absolutely wonderful! And as for this lace-up gown with cutouts. Despite this, I’m still looking for an excuse to put it on! Would anyone be interested in inviting me to their black tie wedding?!

TIP FOR Small GIRLS: Rent the Runway provides petite dresses that are tailored to fit petite women like us! There are certain styles where this isn’t accessible, but it’s worth looking into so you don’t tread on your dress all night!

Rock a jumpsuit!

I wore this jumpsuit to a wedding in January – all it needed was a lovely gold belt to make it festive and joyful, and it was complete! This is a fantastic alternative, especially if it’s going to be chilly outside (hello, April and May weddings!) or if you’re not a big fan of wearing dresses. However, I really adore thisclassic black variant as well as this red jumpsuit (with a BOW, of course).

Add some sequins.

Sequins add a layer of excitement to every occasion. Plus, I think a sequin cocktail dress is just as elegant as a floor-length gown, so if you want to show off your legs, go for it! This one is no longer available, but I really like this one and this one!

Daytime Spring Wedding Outfit Ideas

I adore the versatility that daytime weddings provide — there are SO many possibilities! It also makes shopping a little less stressful for those who are more realistic. Instead of purchasing a dress only for a wedding, consider purchasing a piece that you can wear throughout the summer. All you have to do is mix and match your accessories to create the perfect look!

Don’t forget sleeves for April/May weddings.

We are all aware that the weather in Chicago can be unpredictable. If you’re having an outdoor wedding, you might want to wear those sleeves before the heat of the summer sets in. In addition, this green dress is currently just $59! In addition to the XS, which I’m wearing, this style is also available here if your size is sold out on the other site!

Not a floral person? Try polka dots!

Polka dots are one of my favorite prints, and I believe they are an underappreciated choice for weddings. Despite the fact that this maxi dress actually features a flower design, the dots on it look a lot like dots to me, therefore I’m loving it!

Don’t be afraid of fun colors!

Although hot pink isn’t for everyone, Spring and Summer weddings provide the perfect time to experiment with other hues. After all, they are occasions for celebration! This pink maxi dress is a little out of date, but I adore it. And this red dress, this yellow dress (which is just $118! ), this purple dress, and so many more. I’ll accept any and all of them! Also, the shape of this printed dress is quite similar to the one I’m wearing in the photo above. This is a fantastic (and flattering!) choice!

How many weddings are you going to this spring and summer?

Although hot pink isn’t for everyone, Spring and Summer weddings are the perfect occasion to experiment with bright hues!. After all, they are celebrations! Although this pink maxi dress is a few years old, I like it. And there’s this red dress, this yellow dress (which is just $118! ), this purple dress, and more. Every one of them will be mine! Also, the form of this printed dress is quite similar to the one I’m wearing in the photos above. Excellent (and aesthetically pleasing!) alternative.

Wedding Attire by Dress Code

Many couples specify a dress code for wedding guests (which is printed on the invitation) in order to set expectations about wedding clothing. While some wedding dress code alternatives are obvious, others leave a great deal to the discretion of the bride and groom. Put down that polo shirt; we’ll get you up to speed on what each wedding dress code implies in terms of men’s wedding wear.

BLACK TIE MEN’S ATTIRE

What It Means:This is a formal and specific event, therefore adhere to the dress code: black bow tie, black tuxedo, and white tux shirt (or something similar). Bright colors and neckties are more risky choices, but there are various ways to distinguish oneself from the crowd. If you’re looking for something more modern, try wearing your tuxedo shirt with a fold-down collar and accessorizing with little details such as a pocket square, suspenders, or button studs. It is all about subtle individuality when it comes to black tie wedding wear for guys.

BLACK TIE OPTIONAL ATTIRE FOR MEN

In other words, the black tie in ” Black Tie Optional ” isn’t completely off the table. Basically, if a visitor is unable to wear a tuxedo for whatever reason, they are not required to attend the wedding. A dark suit and tie would be suitable black tie optional wedding clothing for guys, but a tuxedo would be preferable if you can afford it. Do you prefer a more casual look? Consider a black satin necktie or a black and white bow tie with a pattern to complete the look. You may even add a splash of color by wearing a midnight blue tuxedo instead of a traditional black one.

Wedding attire that is recommended: What to Wear: A tuxedo in black. Midnight Blue Tuxedo, Black and White Satin Bow Tie orNecktie, White Tux Shirt or Dress Shirt, Cufflinks, Pocket Square, and Black Patent Leather Shoes are the formal attire required. Get the Look at Shopbop.com

CREATIVE BLACK TIE MEN’S ATTIRE

What It Means:Think outside the box. Black The use of a tie helps to maintain a formal atmosphere during the wedding, although the restrictions are flexible. A tuxedo is still the preferred attire, but you can experiment with other looks as well. Dinner jacket designs, such as a contrasting jacket with black tux trousers, are a fantastic choice, and both neckties and bow ties, whether in patterns or muted hues, are appropriate for the occasion. For this dress code, you might also go for a brightly colored suit.

COCKTAIL WEDDING ATTIRE

Imagine that your job clothing is business casual, but you’re heading out for drinks (get it?) after work and are unable to stop home to change your clothes. Cocktail clothing is that all-purpose dress code that may be worn for any occasion, and a medium-dark suit is typically the finest choice. You should dress in something with a bit more personality than your typical 9 to 5 look—a bolder necktie, a distinctive pocket square, or a pair of killer shoes would all be appropriate additions. Wedding attire that is recommended: The outfit should include a navy or blue suit, a solid color dress shirt, a patterned necktie or bow tie, cufflinks, a pocket square, and either black or brown leather shoes.

CASUAL MEN’S ATTIRE

What It Means: Seeing the word “casual” on a wedding invitation might be perplexing for those who are unfamiliar with the term, but most adult humans are well aware that they should not dress in shorts or jeans to a wedding. At the very least, casual wedding clothes for males should consist of dress slacks and a blazer, but a suit with a dress shirt and dress shoes is preferable. Weddings are important occasions, and a “casual” appearance should be acceptable in a relaxed setting while yet reflecting the importance of the occasion.

WHITE TIE ATTIRE FOR MEN

This means, first and foremost, that you are not permitted to burp at any point throughout the competition. Keep it together. This is the most formal dress code, which means you should have tails on your jacket and perhaps a monocle on your eye (just joking. a little). Although our rendition of the outfit below comes close to meeting the requirements, if you are invited to a White Tie event, you should seek professional styling advice. Wedding attire that is recommended: The following items should be worn: A black tailcoat, a white bow tie, a Wing Tip Tuxedo Shirt, button Studs, a white waistcoat (a form of vest with lapels), black tuxedo pants, and black patent leather shoes

NO DRESS CODE

Exactly What It Means:If you’re the one who’s arranging this wedding, we strongly advise that you provide attendees with a dress code so that they may prepare with confidence. If you’re a wedding guest, approach with caution since you don’t want to be the center of attention instead of the wedding party. A tuxedo may be overkill, so strive for an outfit that falls halfway between a casual and a cocktail wear dress codeoutfit. You might also look around the wedding location for suggestions on what to wear.
